Pembrokeshire County Council has a well trained Maintenance Gang.
Trained in tree management and tree planting. They can only do what they are ordered to do.
Their priority has been to remove all trees that are a hazard or which will require ongoing maintenance.
Many trees have been felled.
This was acceptable when they considered replanting, but now  a  declaration by PCC has stated  that they will not plant any new trees even those to replace existing trees which have been felled for whatever reasons
Pembroke has lost half of the trees in public places in the last years, changing the face of this historic Town.
Trees provide shelter essential in such an area of high winds
