Castle Pond Pembroke

The fish fry which cannot migrate to sea are trapped in Castle Pond.
Each day their numbers go down there are few left.
Those left are chased into the shallows by female Mallard and eaten!

Castle Pond Spring 2015

When in 2014 the barrage was broken bass and mullet were able to spawn.A year later many thousands of bass and mullet fry are ready to go to sea but the barrage prevents this.
This photograph shows part of the 50 m shoal  trying a spring source which is not an exit to the sea.

Pembroke Horror

My modest attempt to halt the spread of green concrete

My boundary hedge we had persuaded Pembrokeshire County Council not to mow until June when the flowers had seeded
Herbs and flowers proliferated until this year a contractor mowed it.
