Pembroke Main Street

This is a medieval walled town built of carboniferous limestone with Georgian and later stucco finishes
Under a central scheme with no regard for listing or Conservation Area status unelected local people  have designed this scheme a pastiche of eighties prettificaton.
Alien materials alien colours, see the previous shop fronts in earlier blog.
How may towns are being further homogenised we have lost all sense of pride in our history.
Repair and conserve but do not strip any sense of place with cheap manufactured materials, for the sake of tidyness.
